YA YNot?

The official network for TeensReadToo.com

I've always got a list of books to read and books I'm currently working on. Right now I'm enjoying Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

What books are you currently reading? What do you recommend to be added to my ever lengthy to be read pile?

Just finished SOULLESS by Christopher Golden, and gave it a Gold Star Review on the site. You can read it here. Trust me - this book is awesome, amazing, and stupendous, especially if you like zombies and/or horror in general!

I finished FABULOUS TERRIBLE by Sophie Talbot and PROJECT 17 by Laurie Faria Stolarz yesterday and thought they were both great. I have the review up for FABULOUS TERRIBLE on my blog and will have PROJECT 17 up later today. I'm now just started OUTSIDE BEAUTY by Cynthia Kadohata.

I just got done reading Inside Out Girl by Tish Cohen and The Shack by William Young. Both were amazing books. I am now reading So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore by Wayne Jacobsen. I am also reading The First Sandcastle by M. E. Delgado. I have a pile by my bed to read and probably another 200 around the house.

I'm reading THE HERETIC'S DAUGHTER by Kathleen Kent. So far, so good. I was supposed to be on a panel with her at SIBA (the Southern booksellers convention last weekend in Mobile, AL); but her publisher featured her at a dinner instead. Bummer for me (great for her!). I know the author researched her own family history and their relationship to the Salem witch trials in order to write it, which makes it even more interesting.

And I recommend The Name of the Wind. I just finished it and it's great. You can read my reviews for other books I like on my site at Goodreads.

CURSE AS DARK AS GOLD was my favorite YA novel that I picked up this year. I'm shoving it at every person I know who likes YA romance, retold fairy tale or fantasy.

I just finished Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott and was wowed. It's a tough read in the sense that your heart is breaking for the protagonist, but it's also extraordinarily suspenseful, compelling, and resonant. You won't be able to put it down!
