Glad to hear your husband is doing well. I haven't been online for way too long. Too much going on - I did, however, finish reading Rebel and I really enoyed it. Lot's of good insight for teens who may find themselves in similar situtations. I grew up in a single parent home so I could really relate to Rebel's feelings. My dad left when I was preschool and we saw very little of him. He always lived close by but apparently thought it would be better for my sister and me if he stayed away. He didn't want us to be shifted back and forth all the time. Consequently, I never knew him that well. A few years ago, his wife passed away from a form of leukemia and he called me (and my sister) and we have had a telephone relationship since then. He is in his 80's and I think he realizes what he missed all those years. He did keep up with what was happening in our lives through my grandparents. I guess we all make some poor decisions in our lives. May seem good at the time but then... It is nice to be able to talk to him now. We sent him a digital frame for Christmas which I downloaded pictures from my life and from my sister's - from when we were babies until the present. He loved it. We plan to send new SD cards with new pictures for him from time to time. About my dog - he just had to have a neuter surgery and a barium test of his esophogus (sp?) But the test was very expensive and at this clinic the neuter was about 3 times what I pay at my regular vet but I wanted it all done at one time so I had them do it. I lost a pet to a neuter surgery once so I am always nervous about having it done. He is just fine but has to be confined for 7 days and today is his third day and he doesn't like it. I have to confine the other dog too so he stays calm and quiet. They are both German Shepherds and usually very active so this is hard for them. It will be over soon though. Glad your virtual tour went so well - I hope you have lots of luck with Rebel. I would recommend it for any young teen who may be facing the same trials that Rebel did. I really liked her view of things at the end.

I'm so happy that you enjoyed Shabang's Story and thanks for the nice comments. I have so many ideas for sequels that I really need to start writing them down. And thanks for adding it to your bookshelf at Shelfari. I read the nice review you received from that lady who purchased your book at the book signing. Wow wasn't that nice!! I can't wait to read it. When I finish getting my website set up, do you mind if I quote you on a few of your comments on Shabang's Story? Once I get everything set on it (which will probably be awhile because I am not at all a techie) I will be happy to post a link to your site as well. I wish I could have come to your area of Texas to meet you and pick up Rebel at your book signing. That would have been so great. Maybe one day. I'm even more excited to read it now after reading Nancy's review.

I can understand about the middle name "Waiting". Mine is similiar to that. It is "Hurryupandwait". Blog me as soon as you hear from your publisher and I will go online to order it. How did your book signing go? I see on your page that you just had one yesterday. Hope it was fantastic! Did you finish Shabang's Story? Let me know what you think when you get a chance. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Great! Hope you do enjoy it. You'll have to let me know your thoughts and feelings about it when you finish it. Tell me what you think about it from a film aspect too. I just sent off the fact sheet and synopsis along with a copy of my manuscript to the people who are going to do the critique on Shabang's Story for Book To Film. They also do a pitch sheet for use in selling to film makers. This should take 2 - 3 weeks and when complete, then will send a copy to me and my agent at BTF agency who will then contact me and go over strengths and weaknesses that may need to be revised as far as marketing it for a film and then using the pitch sheet will start the process of finding a buyer. I need all the prayers I can get. I am still waiting to find Rebel on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Has your publisher given you any info on when it will be available? I am anxious to read it. Let me know when you hear anything. I will be the first to buy one.

Thanks for ordering Shabang's Story. Hope you enjoy it. Yes it is cold and blustery - Thank God the wind has calmed down for today. I stayed in most of the day myself. Didn't want to get blown away. Has your publisher given you any idea when Rebel will be ready to order online? I will watch for it. Have a beautiful Sunday.

Glad to hear from you. Also I wasn't able to find Rebel and now, after reading your message, I know why. Thought I was having a senior moment. As soon as it is available, I will buy one. Don't feel bad about my troubles -- it is all good. My ex and I are speaking and can be friends now which is good, I am blessed to have a job - even one I want to retire from, and I talked to my financial advisor and "we" have decided to put my retirement on hold for now. A wise move I believe. I felt the relief almost immediately. Just not having to worry about if things would recover in time for April was a weight off my shoulders. When the time is right, we'll know.and when I can leave and feel good about it it will be better. In the meantime I will just look forward to vacations and days off to pursue bookish things. Whenever you get to read Shabang's Story, please give me your honest thoughts about it, criticism and all. We all love the positive feedback but it there is any negative feedback, it can always be used to grow on. I'll let you know when there is any progress on the movie thing. Let me know when Rebel hits the net and I will order it right away. Talk to you later.

Hi Beverly - I can't believe so much time has gone by since I have been on this site. Too much going on - I am currently working with an agency on a book-to-film prospect for Shabang's Story. I sent in my information and after reviewing it, they requested to see my manuscript and a few days later, I received notice that they thought it would be marketable to Hollywood and now we are in the paper stage- contracts and pitch sheets and critiques. All so new to me but exciting. No promises but I am thrilled they think it would make a good movie for screen or tv. We'll see what happens - Oh & no relinquishing of copyright either (which is good because I would never agree to that). I was also given a 3 month old German Shepherd puppy 3 weeks ago who was found stray and extremely skinny. The finders had met me at a dog park with my 2 year old German Shepherd and thought I would be a likely target for a home for him. As soon as I held him and he licked my face it was all over so to the vet for a check up, shots and a clean bill of health and now I am a 2 German Shepherd home. My 2 year old shepherd has taken to him very easily which was a relief. Only a little jealousy on the first day or two. Now they are best buddys. So all that and add in my job during the week it equals "NO TIME"! Anyway I have not had a chance to order Rebel in Blue Jeans but have not forgotten about it and plan to do so today. Will let you know when I have received and read it. You sound like you have been busy too, with the Library thing and book signing. I am not sure I would want to spend the night in a haunted hotel, would you? That is something else I need to do too, set up a book signing but again it is the time issue. I need to retire from my job so I have time for this - what a dream that would be. I was planning on doing it in April but then life throws things at you like a divorce and now the financial crisis so now I am not sure if it would be a wise move. I am leaving it to God to figure out for me. I might have to take a giant leap of faith but I also have a good sized mortgage that has to be paid each month so that sort of holds me back a little. But there is still five months left until April so anything can happen. Looking forward to reading Rebel in Blue Jeans. Good luck with it.

Hi Beverly - I went on your publishers site and read the sneak preview of your book and it left me wanting to know what was going to happen in the rest of the story. I will definitely be adding a copy to my library and will add a comment blog to you when I have read it. Don't worry though, I won't reveal any of the story that would ruin it for other readers. Sounds like it's going to be great.

Thanks for your interest in Shabang's Story and for the info about your book. I will look forward to getting a copy to read as soon as it comes out. Let me know where it can be purchased. Love the cover of Rebel in Blue Jeans too. I see your media copies were just delivered. It is always so exciting to get a box of your own books. I think books for Christmas gifts is a great idea. I had several friends purchase several copies of mine when it first came out to share with friends and family - It was great. I wish you the best of luck with Rebel In Blue Jeans and can't wait to read it myself!

Rebel Review

I am delighted with this review. The lady is not a reviewer. She bought Rebel at my recent signing and was kind enough to post her thoughts on our local Your Hub newspaper blog. Thank you, Nancy.

Beverly Stowe McClure wrote a good book--considered a 'YA'--young adult book. Shucks. I haven't been that young in a while, but I still enjoyed the book. It deals with parents separating and other issues that arise in the lives of young people. I would whole-heartedly recommend it as reading material f… Continue
