Hannah's Friends

Hannah's Page. (Or, "Down the Rabbit Hole")

Meet ME (again)

It's been a LONG time since I've been on this site, so I find it fitting to re-write my introduction. My name is Hannah, I'm 21 years old and live in Bend Oregon. I'm a would-be writer, and an ALWAYS reader. I'm actually coming up on an important event, the announcement for the winner of a competition that could help me break into the world of writing. Cross your fingers for me?

I love pretty much any and every kind of book, and intend to keep blowing my pay-check on hard-backs because who can STAND waiting so long for wonderful books to come out in a cheaper form?

Cheerio,

Hannah

Introduction

I don't know why it is that whenever I start a blog I feel the need to introduce myself, considering I might be the only one to read it. But I do. Maybe it's a "just in case" for me, wouldn't want to forget who I am now what I.

My name is Hannah. Middle name Rose. Last name something very Irish, but my mum wouldn't like it much if
I put that one on the internet. I am currently 20 years old. My birthday is July 7th 1988. I was born in California in a city whose name I think I might being spellin… Continue

Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. My debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available for pre-order from Amazon.com, and I am writing because I was hoping you might be willing to read it and post your thoughts on Amazon.com (or some of the other book review sites). If you're interested, I'd be more than willing to send you an e-book version by e-mail. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,
Chris

Hi,
Beyond the Shadows of Summmer is about a 14 y.o. artist who uses the magic of summer (and a state fair) to find hope after losing his younger brother. It is a powerful story of learning how to forgive oneself and be able to laugh in the face of tragedy.
Self-publishing first takes a bit of $$, then someone to help you edit, and then the ability to self-promote. It is a lot of work. I would love to publish through a typical publishing company, but have not found the right match yet. You can read more about my novel on my personal blog: www.jonathanzemsky.blogspot.com.
Have you been to Astoria, Oregon?

Welcome Hannah and thanks for the intro. I am pretty new to this author thing, self-published in 2005. What's Oregon like as I have been bugging my wife about getting over there sometime soon?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hm, yes, weren't you just in my office last week? (haha, but not really haha, right?) Man, you've got LOTS of material from which to draw, but I can understand why you might want to write about anything but that!

The Other Sister is available in most bookstore or through the online booksellers, and in most libraries. Remember This just came out on September 1st, so it's still working its way around. Its available through the online sellers like Amazon.com though, and may or not be 'in a bookstore near you'!

Well, writing one is the biggest part of the battle, or at least a different part of the challenge! What have you written?

What a great photo; is that the cover art for a book you've written? If not, it should be!
