Maggie Stiefvater - homicidal faeries & werewolf nookie
I'm the author of a young adult urban fantasy about homicidal faeries, LAMENT (Flux '08), its sequel, BALLAD (Flux '09), and a forthcoming YA novel about werewolf nookie and first love, SHIVER (Scholastic, '09). LAMENT is hitting bookstories at the end of October and is already available online at Amazon.

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

I haven't read LAMENT yet (immersed in my own Faerie world as I have been *grin*) but I hear nothing but awesomeness about it and am really looking forward to it!
December really IS soon. And NO I'm not nervous! Why do you ask? My eye always twitches spasmodically!!
WONDROUS STRANGE comes out in December (officially on the 23rd but I keep seeing it popping up with earlier dates, like the 12th!)
I just turned in the sequel and counting down to realease means that I have gnawed all available fingernails down to the second knuckle.
