Books are like sushi... so appetizing!

Ever met a guy who read all of the Gossip Girl series and isn't afraid to admit it? Well here he is! I practically read anything that has words, a plot and an interesting cover! I also do reviews for the wonderful website TeensReadToo.com and you can find me there and see the wide variety of novels I have read. I'm so glad to be here and its so awesome to get to know fellow readers and all the authors (who are like celebrities to me!)

What grinds my gears:

1. When a series goes from paperback to releasing to HARDCOVER in the middle of the series. So far this has occurred to three of the series I'm reading.
2. When your at the middle of the series and then the entire series is given a face lift with all new covers (whatever happened to not judging a book by its cover?) Especially when the new covers look cooler than the original (I know it's bad to say) and you want the new covers.
3. When a series gets cut short, it's like having your favorite TV… Continue

Bring your bookcase to blog day (week, month...)!

I haven't taken a picture of mine yet, since I am at school and just thought of this but I have always wanted to see what people's bookcases look like or where they put their books or how many books they have. I hope everyone can join in, this should be a blast!

Parental control on books

Setting: At the young adult section of Barnes 'n Nobles, looking at the new releases and favorites that were just put on display. A mother and her daughter are with an employee looking for some titles. With a few books in tow the mother asks the employee:

"Do you have the novel Twilight?"

The employee then goes to show the mother the book which happens to be at the same table I'm at.

"What is the book about?" the mother asks.
"Vampires," the employee replies.
"Oh no," the mother says and puts… Continue

Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. My debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available for pre-order from Amazon.com, and I am writing because I was hoping you might be willing to read it and post your thoughts on Amazon.com (or some of the other book review sites). If you're interested, I'd be more than willing to send you an e-book version by e-mail. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,

I'm so glad you liked it! My editor said a sequel depends on how well Revealers sells. I have a basic plot in mind already, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Randy, I just saw your review for FADE -- it's really well done. And you did it without giving away any spoilers -- that must have been hard. :)

I'm so glad you liked book 2! I'm giving your review 5 stars.

Oh wow, Randy -- you got your ARC of Fade? And you read it? And liked it? Yay!

There will be another book in the WAKE series, called GONE. That one comes out spring 2010 (I'm writing it right now). Thanks for the love, Randy! Nice to talk with you again.
