Hi, there! I write THE DEBS series for Random House about four Texas prep school seniors clawing their way through their debutante season. THE DEBS debuted in late August of 2008 and will be followed by LOVE, LIES, AND TEXAS DIPS in June of 2009 and by GLOVES OFF in March of 2010. I spent 20 years in Houston and Dallas so I've been around lots of debutantes, and it's fun to write about them. Debuting is still very much a tradition in Texas and the South, and a "Texas Dip" is the deep bow that Texas debs excecute after they're introduced at their ball. I love reading YA and am really enjoying writing it after doing five mysteries in my adult "Debutante Dropout" series for Avon.
